I love this picture because it seemed as if everything was in place and just waiting for me to shoot! I almost shot it seconds before the boat on the leftmost part of the picture showed up, and without it, I don't think that the picture would've been nearly as good as it is. For my photo essay, I think that this is the perfect 'cover' picture, because it contains all three of the elements mentioned in my proposal, and it really gives me the feeling and the urgency to go out and explore Milwaukee. I love how picturesque this city can be-even in the inner city. For example (and I wish I could’ve shot this), during Father’s Day week, I just happened to see a large number of men walking around with kids. I’m around the inner city quite a bit, and I don’t see this too often. Was it because of Father’s Day? One may never know, but aside from the projected negativities, Milwaukee does have a great deal of light to shed, and with this project, I plan on bringing some of that light to the foreground.
